Exemption Regarding the Sale of Electronically Controlled Ventilators

I, Dr Zwelini Lawrence Mkhize, Minister of Health, under section 3(1A)(b) of the Hazardous Substances Act, 1973 (Act 15 of 1973), hereby exempt a medical device establishment licensed in terms of section 22C(1)(b) and duly authorised in terms of section 21 of the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 1965 (Act 101 of 1965), to sell an electronically controlled ventilator (a Group III hazardous substance) for use in the Republic, from the provisions of section 3(1)(b) of the Hazardous Substances Act, 1973 (Act 15 of 1973).This exemption shall be effective immediately for a period not exceeding eighteen (18) months from the date of signature of this Notice.Dr Zwelini Lawrence Mkhize, MPMinister of Health
